Why I’m Studying Homeopathy

To paint a little background picture for you. At a young age, I developed severe skin irritation located around my mouth, eyes, neck and both wrist. At this stage, I was approximately 13 years old, and teenage life as we all know has its challenges, being a redhead, and imagine adding this into the mix! Bless my family and friends, they were so patient and supportive with me and still am 😉

We started the process of trying to figure out what was happening, my mum took me to see a naturopath, who gave me a bunch of vitamins, took a hair sample, changed and simplified my diet as we started the process of elimination. Due to the state my body was in and how it wasn’t functioning correctly, things weren’t improving. By this stage, I was well into having this for a few years.

I was consistently layering up with so much foundation to try cover my face, but it never truly hid the horror that laid underneath. To put things in perspective, I had this issue from the age of 13 until I was 22 years old.

I remember when I was about 4 years into this health issue, and my mum took me to see a healer, and WOW, just WOW, I was ‘out’ for about three and half hours, and upon waking up, I looked in the mirror and for the first time in four years the redness was gone, I simply cried. It did all come back pretty quickly, however, it gave me the BELIEF in holistic healing and from that moment on, I was sold. I continued using a couple of modalities for healing for years, which in truth lead me to my path and my purpose for this lifetime.

There was a point where I tested the medical system and natural system for allergies – I had a prick test, costing around NZD $300 to do 3 little finger pricks which were then sent to America for testing, and for a similar price, at the same time I went to The Advanced Allergy Clinic in Auckland for testing. Guess what? The prick test came up with fewer allergies than the natural test! It turned out that I had 10 allergies, of which to this day I can eat whatever I wish. All in moderation of course 😉

About four years ago, I had a change in my life, which enabled me to honour myself and my life path. It motivated me to be open, and this is where I started to learn a beautiful healing art of Usui Reiki, of which I am now a Reiki Master. I began my journey in becoming a homeopath when I met the College of Natural Health and Homeopathy at the Go Green Expo a couple of years ago.

I started back in February 2018 at the College of Natural Health and Homeopathy, where I studied their NZ Diploma in Acute Prescribing with Homeopathy Level 5, part-time and online, and I completed my diploma in June 2019. This worked for my lifestyle, as I was already working and building a business. When I look back now, I had way too much on my plate but with the support and encouragement from the college, I was able to complete my Acute Diploma! To this day, I am working full-time and currently studying in their NZ Diploma in Homeopathy Level 6 and specializing in Human Health.

The college understands my goals, my passions, and values to which they are supportive in guiding me with my studies. By studying Homeopathy and continuing to do so, I can integrate this modality of healing into my Reiki healing business and help my clients, friends, and family.

I believe, that both Homeopathy and Allopathy medicine can work hand in hand, everything has its place and can benefit us all if we are open to receive. As well as a range of other beautiful healing modalities out there, such as Reiki, Acupuncture, Naturopathy, and the list goes on!

I’m deeply grateful for all that has happened in life to this day, nothing should be looked at as a regret, but as a lesson. We all have our own story, the good, the bad and the ugly, we all face challenges in life, some positive and some negative, but through these experiences, they shape who we are to this day. If each of us takes the time to truly go deep within, shred what isn’t for our highest good, life can be beautiful and when hurdles present themselves in our lives we can overcome them and shine our beautiful light!

If you are interested in studying homeopathy, I encourage you to listen to your inner self, trust the journey and connect with the College of Natural Health and Homeopathy today!
