Diploma of Homeopathy

This four-year Diploma of Homeopathy programme is for those who seek to become qualified practitioners of homeopathic medicine, enabling them to assess and treat people within a holistic framework.

The course offers training in all aspects of homeopathy – from philosophy and theory to practical clinical application. Medical Science is included in the course to national accreditation standards.

The course covers six main subjects:

  • Philosophy
  • Theory
  • Materia Medica
  • Practical Application including clinical training
  • Medical Science
  • Therapeutics

Clinical training is included in the Practical Application subject area. Beginning in Year 2, students are required to undertake on-site training with registered homeopathic practitioners. Each year of the course the subjects increase in depth and level of integration and are designed to facilitate a smooth, steady transition on the part of the student.

Course Format

Online: Flexible distance online learning options are available from any location. All students must follow a course of tutor supported learning, homestudy and assessment of 20-27 hours per week on average.

Mixed mode: Students attend one weekend a month for 10 months a year for four years to achieve the Diploma of Homeopathy qualification. The weekend face to face intensives are available in Auckland, Tauranga and Christchurch.

Qualification and Accreditation

  • The Diploma of Homeopathy (level 7) will be awarded to students who successfully complete the programme.
  • The qualification is approved and accredited by NZQA (New Zealand Qualifications Authority). The Diploma of Homeopathy and Diploma of Homeopathy (Animal Health) are approved for StudyLink student loans and allowances.
  • Graduates will be entitled to use the designation: DipHom (NZ).
