All students are required to start with our NZ Diploma in Acute Prescribing with Homeopathy, this is a species neutral (humans and animals) diploma in acute case management. Then, if you wish you can enrol in our NZ Diploma in Homeopathy and specialize in either Human or Animal Health in chronic case management.

The New Zealand Diploma in Acute Prescribing with Homeopathy is an NZQA Accredited Level 5, 120 Credit qualification offering training in all aspects of acute homeopathy – from philosophy and theory to medical science and practical acute clinical application. This programme is a prerequisite before moving into our Diploma in Homeopathy for either Human or Animal Health (Level 6).

The Diploma in Acute Prescribing with Homeopathy covers the following topics:

Introduction to Alternative Complementary Modalities
A quick look at other complementary modalities such as Aromatherapy, Reiki, Bowen, and Naturopathy. This will allow students to have a basic understanding of other treatments if a client is using multiple types of complementary medicine.

Human & Animal Anatomy and Physiology
An in-depth look at Human and Animal Medical Science, both features and functions of each body system.

Introduction to Research Methods
A look at how to read research papers in Natural Health, what the statistics mean, and how to understand if it is good/bad research.

Homeopathic Remedies (Materia Medica) and Therapeutic usage
Around 70 – 80 remedies are learned, including what the remedy is made from, its special characteristics, and the therapeutic uses it can assist with both Humans and Animals.

Homeopathic Case Taking
To start with you will view live or pre-recorded client case-takes to assess the language used, the style/techniques employed to gather information, and to assess client body language and responses. You then move through the case “writeup” assessing the main client problems and working out the best remedy to prescribe.

About halfway through the course, you will start interview clients yourself (taking the case) and will be guided through this with a tutor supervising.

Towards the end of the course, you will be taking a case by yourself and presenting the case take and write-up to your tutor.
