Homeopathy Support with Psoriasis

This article is looking at a chronic condition called Psoriasis. It’s important to state here that this would require a constitutional consultation through a fully qualified homeopath to ensure the right remedy and treatment plan is achieved based on the client’s totality of symptoms and the way psoriasis is expressing itself.

What is Psoriasis? Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease in which the life cycle of skin cells is sped up. This causes cells to build upon the surface of the skin. These cells form silvery coloured scales and red or purple patches that may be itchy or painful. The scales may cover large areas of your body or be just small spots.

Psoriasis is a chronic condition. There may be flare-ups that alternate with clear periods in between. There’s no cure, however, you can manage symptoms with Homeopathy support which can assist the body’s own natural response.

Allopathic forms of treatment include topical steroids, topical retinoids, and oral or injected systemic drugs for severe or treatment-resistant psoriasis, among several others proven to be effective. However, this can also suppress psoriasis and potentially other health concerns, whereas homeopathy will stimulate the body’s own natural responses and will encourage suppressed symptoms to become more evident and help support in restoring balance.

Some people with psoriasis may be curious about homeopathic remedies. These remedies are derived from minerals, plants, chemicals, human and animal secretions and excretions, they are used as tinctures, orally or topically.

Homeopathic remedies are based on two theories. The first is “like cures like,” which means that an illness can be resolved by a substance that causes similar symptoms in healthy people. The second is “law of minimum dose,” which means that the lower the dose, the more effective it is.
